The Story Behind Ancient Modern
Ancient Modern is a small-batch, organic tallow skincare brand based in Florida. We handcraft luxury skincare products using 100% grass-fed, grass-finished beef tallow � one of the most biocompatible moisturizers known to dermatology.
Why Tallow?
For centuries, tallow was the cornerstone of skincare across cultures worldwide. Its fatty acid profile closely mirrors the natural sebum produced by human skin, which means it absorbs deeply and efficiently without clogging pores. Modern science confirms what ancient cultures knew: tallow is rich in vitamins A, D, E, and K, and contains palmitoleic acid and conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) � compounds that support skin barrier function and cellular repair.
Somewhere along the way, we traded this time-tested wisdom for synthetic alternatives filled with petrochemicals, parabens, and endocrine disruptors. We decided to go back to the beginning.
Our Process
Every jar of Pure Gold Whipped Tallow Balm is handcrafted in small batches. We start with 100% grass-fed, grass-finished tallow and blend it with cold-pressed organic oils carefully selected for their skin benefits:
- Black Seed Oil (Nigella sativa) � anti-inflammatory, rich in thymoquinone
- Sea Buckthorn Oil � high in omega-7 and vitamin C, supports skin regeneration
- Brazilian Nut Oil � selenium-rich, deeply nourishing
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil � antioxidant protection, squalene content
- Castor Oil � humectant properties, promotes moisture retention
- Beeswax � natural protective barrier
